Tektite-A Step 3: Launch!

This tutorial covers how to launch and characterize Tektite-A. Characterization simply means finding how much drag the canards create, so that we can simulate the rocket in the future.

However, in the when you want to just launch Tektite-A (most likely with active control) follow the checklist below:

Pre-launch

  1. Enter in the weather information into the flight computer
  2. Tune the simulation for the weather (see Step 4)

Launch site

  1. Put in motor (but not igniter) and mass the rocket
  2. Enter the mass into the configuration
  3. Connect Tektite-A to the computer and calculate & save the configuration
  4. At the launch rod, flip Tektite-A upside down to arm it for launch
  5. Make sure to be careful while lowering it onto the rail so as to not exceed the 3g launch detection limit. ⚠️ If the light is not red on the flight computer, this has been exceeded and you must download the flight data off of Tektite-A before launching
