This kit includes a 3d-printed transition and canards (front fins), a 2S 8.4V LiPo battery, servo motors to tilt them, and the Tektite-A flight computer which uses sensors to know where it is and control the canards. By tilting the canards in opposing directions, Tektite-A can use drag to control the final altitude.
Tektite-A records flight data at over 200Hz to the integrated 16MB SPI Flash chip and the included app provides advanced tools for analysis, including graphing and an integrated simulator.
Featuring an STM32F411CEU6 ARM Cortex-M4 98MHz microcontroller, the excellent Bosch BMI088 inertial measurement unit, Bosch BMP280 barometer, and a series of complementary filters to fuse the sensor readings together, Tektite-A can give a precise and real-time position throughout the flight.
